Two men cut trees that fell during Hurricane Gloria in the Arnold Arboretum in Boston on Oct. 1, 1985. The storm that struck four days ago forced the evacuation of tens of thousands of seacoast residents and caused widespread power outages that affected more than 2 million homes in New England, but did not cause as much damage as expected.
