Oil Clean Up At Nauset Beach 1977

Crews with the Marlyn Engineering Corp. of Boston, under contract to the Coast Guard, clean up oil that washed ashore at Nauset Beach in Orleans, Mass., on March 11, 1977. Tar balls of oil, ranging in size from raisins to footballs, started washing up on beaches around Cape Cod last month and now cover a 30-mile stretch from Nauset Beach on the outer Cape to Wellfleet on the bay side.
