Captain Leads Crew Over Frozen Dorchester Bay 1934

A captain leads his crew as they walk to City Point Pier over the ice in Boston's Dorchester Bay on Feb. 11, 1934. Their schooner, background, was anchored near Spectacle Island. Captain Moore described the ice as 5 to 6 inches thick. Captain Moore had experience in the Arctic, was prepared for any sudden opening in the sea ice.
